Silicon Valley Second School Policy

  1. Privacy Policy

    • You consent to receive text messages from Silicon Valley Second School about classes, workshops, recitals, events, and any related issues needed to be sent via SMS at the phone number you provided. You acknowledge that your consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg & data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Reply HELP for assistance or STOP to opt out of receiving messages. 

    • You agree to receive emails and phone calls from Silicon Valley Second School.

    • No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

  2. Absence and Tardiness
    If you need to miss a trial lesson, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, you will be expected to pay for the lesson, because your time is reserved specifically for you.
    Your lesson time is reserved specifically for you, and we honor this appointment conscientiously. To give other students the same consideration, we cannot allow a lesson to extend into another time period. Therefore, if the student arrives late, their lesson will end at the usual time without adjusting the fee.

  3. Payment and Tuition
    Trial lesson fees are due before the class. Trial lesson fee is applied towards the tuition, if a student is enrolled and attending within the 2 weeks of a trial class.
    Tuition is due on the first of the month. All tuition payments are processed automatically. The credit card information is required to be added on file at the time of enrollment.

  4. Holidays
    For observance of Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year Day, the school will be closed.
    No make-up classes are provided for those days.

  5. Materials
    All materials are provided for trial lessons (Art, Music, Chess).
    IMPORTANT: If you are trying woodwinds or brass instruments (Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, etc), please bring your own instrument (for hygiene purposes) OR contact the school prior to your trial class to arrange a rental (the school will recommend a music shop).

  6. Communication
    All communication is conducted through the school’s office. We respect and value personal time of our teachers.
    Please feel free to contact the front office at any time about your child’s progress or any difficulties.  Parental involvement is the best insurance of success. The combined effort of student, parent, and teacher always produces a superior result.

  7. Hygiene and Safety
    No food or open containers drinks are permitted inside classrooms.
    Drinks in any containers are strictly prohibited on or around any instruments.
    Hands must be clean and fingernails trimmed.
    Young students or younger family members must be supervised in the waiting area at all times. 

  8. Discontinuing Lessons
    30 days' notice is required in the event that student decides to discontinue lessons.

    Every family will receive a Welcome Packet at the time of enrollment that incudes full school policies, class descriptions, calendar, and rates.
